Blog Plan

Why are you creating the content you’re creating?
To share what mobile technologies pertain to my interests of marketing, social media, eating healthy, and cooking healthy.

Who is your audience?
People who share those similar interests.

What do you want the content to achieve?
People to learn more about and advance their interests, by using/learning about the technologies I share.

When and how are you going to develop the content? Share your schedule for posting to the blog.
Every other day, there will be a new post.

Where are you going to publish? Evaluate three options for blogging sites by using a features comparison matrix and explaining which is the best choice for you.

  • Blogger
    • Pay $10/year for a domain name without the “.blogspot” extension – otherwise totally free.
    • Have to sync with Google account
    • More filled with word posts
    • Easy to set up a blog
    • Less popular than before, but still popular.
  • WordPress
    • Can create a new account
    • Domain name & hosting can be bought together for $3-6 per month.
    • More filled with word posts
    • Have to pay to customize the blog.
    • Most popular
    • More for blogging and websites
    • Good place for more “serious” blogs/bloggers.
  • Tumblr
    • Only cost is if you want your domain name without the “.tumblr” extension.
    • Can create a new account
    • Is more filled with images and comments than word posts
    • Easy reblogging
    • More fun types of blogs.
    • Can customize your page entirely through code.
    • Popular for more young ages.

I went with WordPress because I didn’t want to sync my existing Google account with Blogger, and I already have a Tumblr. I don’t feel that Tumblr is the best way to attract people with similar interests to what my blog’s about. With WordPress, I also get the opportunity to explore a popular blog community and site.
